Jane Mohler Koloditch, 86, of Bellefontaine, and formerly of Orchard Island, passed away Monday, Feb 2, 2009, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
She was born in Berea on Jan 3, 1923, a daughter of the late Paul and Nerna Mohler.
On Aug 15, 1944, she married William Koloditch at Barksdale Field Army Air Base in Louisiana and he preceded her in death, along with a great-grandson, Ethan Martin King; and a sister, Nadine Kepler.
She attended Berea High School in Berea and served in the US Army Air Forces, Women's Air Corps, 3rd Air Force during World War II. She met her husband, who also was in the USAAF, at Barksdale Field, La.
She earned a bachelor's degree in education from Wright State University and was a first-grade teacher for many years, teaching at Indian Lake and Belle Center elementary schools.
Her military service is registered with The Women In Military Service For America Memorial, the only major national memorial honoring all women who served in our nation's defense throughout history.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, living at Indian Lake, counted cross-stitch, reading, Red Hat Club events, swimming at the "Y," watching movies and listening to 1940s music.
