The Seattle Daily Times, February 18, 1960, page 48:
Bothell Man Killed in Truck Accident
John P. Skinner, 50, of 20018 75th Ave. N. E., Bothell, was killed at 4:50 o'clock yesterday afternoon when his truck went out of control on a turn near Kenmore.
State Patrolman Don Graybill said the truck left the road at 81st Avenue Northeast and Northeast 165th Street.
The truck struck a tree, ran through a fence, went over an embankment, and careened through a field until it struck a lumber pile.
Skinner was thrown from the truck cab and was run over by the left rear dual wheels.
Coroner Leo M. Sowers said Skinner had a heart ailment but an autopsy showed that deat was caused by his injuries.
Skinners death raised the 1960 King County traffic toll to 171 of which ten were in Seattle and seven outside of the city.

Funeral services for John Pete Skinner, 50, of Bothell, who died Wednesday when his truck went out of control near Kenmore, will be held at 1 o'clock tomorrow in the Mittelstadt Lake City chapel. Burial will be in Washelli.
Mr. Skinner was owner of a farm and garden supply store in Kenmore. He lived about three years in Seattle before he went to Bothell in 1937. He was born and reared in Des Moines, Iowa.
Survivors are his wife, Ethel B.; eight sons, Russell A., Paul, Ronald A., Leon, Jimmie and Niel W. Skinner, all at home; John C. Skinner, Kenmore, and Worth I. Skinner, Redmond; three daughters, Patsie and Pauline Skinner, Oakland, Calif.; two half-brothers, Howard Shirey, Mercer Island, and George Shirey, Alderwood Manor; three half-sisters, Mrs. Ralph Berger and Nellie Shirey, both of Seattle, and Mrs. Henry Brown, Mount Vernon, and five grandchildren.
