LANETT - Ms. Claudine Boyd, 58, of Lanett (West Shawmut) died
Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at her residence.
Funeral services are planned for Sunday, June 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Lanett with the Revs. Louis Upshaw, Vernon Carter, Donald Lancaster and Prince Morgan officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Ms. Boyd is survived by her mother, Doris Howard Boyd Woody; her stepmother, Francis Boyd of Stone Mountain, two daughters, Shannon Boyd of Lanett and Joquell Boyd of Atlanta; one son, John E. Boyd of Lanett; two grandchildren, Zaquade and Czecho Boyd; three brothers, Gregory (Tammy) Woody of Lanett, Michael (Linda) Woody of Valley and Robert (Tammy) Boyd of Stone Mountain; one sister, Sayonaria L. Woody of Lanett; one sister-in-law, Brenda Boyd of LaFayette; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; a special aunt, Luellar (Wylie) Cammon; and a special friend, Reba Booker.
Born Aug. 9, 1949 in Troup County, Ms. Boyd was educated in the Chambers County School System and was a member of the 1968 Rehobeth High School graduating class. She worked in textiles for may years. Ms. Boyd was preceded in death by her father, John L. Boyd.
The remains will lie in state at the church Sunday from 2:30 until the funeral hour.
