COX, ELLA MAE FOSTER Ella Mae Foster Cox, age 78, beloved wife of the late Billy Bruce Cox, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Mrs. Cox was born on March 6, 1933 in Spartanburg, SC, a daughter of the late Louis and Willie Mae Foster. She graduated from Boiling Springs High School in 1951 and went on to earn an associates degree. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, mother and grandmother. She is survived by three daughters, Deborah (Steve) Meeks of Sumter, SC, Wanda (Ron) Hall of Opelika, and Brenda (Barry) Mathews of Gardendale; two sisters, Janie (Carl) Foster Carswell and Irene Foster Blackwell, all of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Herbert (Janette) Foster of Inman, SC; five grandchildren, Chris (Daniel) Hall Lann of Birmingham, MSgt. David (Eliana) Meeks, USAF, Camp Darby, Italy; Jennifer (Oliver) Meeks Weich of West Columbia, SC; Tammy Hall and Christian Hall, both of Opelika; and seven great-grandchildren, Christian Meeks, Nicole Meeks, Elizabeth Lann, DJ Lann, Trey Lann, Ally Blanks and Anna Blanks. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, 2029 Decatur Hwy, Gardendale, AL 35071, with the family receiving friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Rev. Allen Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Meeks, Barry Matthews, Ron Hall, Kevin Lynch, Mike Scholl and Daniel Lann.
