Grace, 92, of Stockbridge, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at Legacy Assisted Living in Jackson, Michigan. She was
born to Harvey R. and Lorene (Lambertson) Sauers.

She grew up in Ypsilanti where she graduated from Roosevelt High School of Eastern Michigan University in 1943. She worked for the U.S. Army Air Force at Willow Run during WWII and as a secretary at the General Motors Building in Detroit following the war.

In February of 1946 she was joined in marriage with Loren H. Collins and became a part of the Stockbridge community. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church as an elder, deacon, and choir member. She worked on the Christian Education Committee, the Historical Research Committee, and was active with the Presbyterian Women.

In 1985 she retired after working as secretary for the Stockbridge High School principals for 26 years. Her greatest pleasures came from her love of God, her loving family, her many friends, and those special ones who adopted her as their "mom or grandma." She enjoyed sharing her musical talent, being a part of the "Eleven-thirty Lunch Bunch," and getting to know her ancestors through genealogical research.

Her husband, her parents, and her step-father Harley Miller preceded her in death.

Three sons survive her: Philip (Pat) of Boulder, Colorado, Stephen (Linda) of Stockbridge, and Craig of Stockbridge. She leaves eight grandchildren: Stephanie Allen, Shane, Travis (Amber), Myles (Trisha), Siri, Meghan (Brandon), Adrianne, and Ryan Collins; two step-grandchildren, Katie and Christopher Miller; 12 great-grandchildren: Devin and Hana Allen, Savannah, Trent, Abigail, Kegan, Brayden, Emma Jean, and Brady Collins, Makenzie Dalton, Norah Takens, and Iris Miller; three brothers: Robert (Gail) Sauers, Laurence (Linda) Sauers, and Terrance Sauers, one sister, Judy (Rev. Gary) Nagy, and one sister-in-law, Norine Collins. She was also blessed with many special cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.

"With the Lord as my guide, I've had a wonderful life. What more could I ask for?"

A Funeral Service was held on Monday, July 24, 2017, at the First Presbyterian Church of Stockbridge with Pastor Deb Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Stockbridge, SAESA, the Stockbridge Library, or Stockbridge Community Outreach.
