Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. Additional visitation is one hour before the service Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Hawkins died Thursday, March 2, 2000, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, after a brief battle with cancer.
Dorothy retired from the former Davenshire Inc. She had been employed there for several years as a seamstress.
Dorothy Marie Roenfeldt was born Oct. 18, 1922, in Davenport, to Leo and Catherine (Petersen) Roenfeldt, She married John Dean Hawkins in Davenport. He died May 8, 1972.
She was a member of the church and had been a member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Dorothy had a lifetime interest and love for sewing. She was a very talented seamstress. She enjoyed spending time with her family, including her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had an especially close relationship with her great granddaughter, Veda.
Memorials can be made St. Matthew's Lutheran Church or American Cancer Society.
Survivors include children and their spouses, Diane and Jim Tiedje and John and Carol Hawkins, all of Davenport, and Nancy and Bill Sparks, San Antonio, Fla.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a sister, Edna Mae Roenfeldt, Davenport; and a sister-in-law, Lucia Mae Hawkins, Mount Vernon, Ill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers.
