Croatian Statesman. He served as the Prime Minister of Croatia from August 12, 1992 to April 3, 1993. He graduated from the University of Zagreb and later went into business in France where he would live from 1963 to 1987. After Croatia's first democratic election in 1990, he joined newly elected President Franjo Tudman's government. In 1992 he was appointed prime minister after parliamentary elections and served for less than a year in that post. During his tenure, several problems led to his increasing unpopularity and President Tudman decided to replace him in April of 1993. After leaving office, he continued to remain active in Croatian politics.
