Martha E. Robertson, nee Merkel, age 93, of O’Fallon, IL, formerly of East St. Louis, IL, born on October 10, 1923 in Tamaroa, IL, died on Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Cedar Ridge Healthcare Center, Lebanon, IL.
Martha worked as the head cook at Venture, and a cook and cashier at Belleville Township High School-East. She also worked at Obear-Nester and as a cashier at Brooks Brothers. Martha was a member of Troy Pentecostal Church, Troy, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Robertson who died on April 17, 1990; her daughter, Jessie Irene McDaniel; her granddaughter, Jeanine McDaniel; her parents, Barney Allan and Carrie Lodge, nee Harrison, Merkel; and her 7 brothers and 1 sister.
She is survived by her children, Norman Eugene (Janet) Robertson of Plainview, IL and Gwindolyn Kay (Roy) Kessler of O’Fallon, IL; 8 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. Martha is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
