Dr. Mary Jo Williams, 88 of Deer Park, passed away July 18, 2017. She was born February 9, 1929. She began her education in pursuit of a teaching career at North Texas State University and continued on to receive her doctorate degree at the University of Houston. She began teaching career in Harlingen, Texas continuing on to San Jacinto College where she taught psychology for over 30 years. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Deer Park. She is survived by her son, Stephen R. Williams and wife Crystal; grandson, Stephen C. Williams and wife Christy; granddaughter, Kristen Villalovos and husband Marcus; great granddaughter, Madisyn Marie Villalovos, all of Deer Park; brothers, Carl Stockard and wife Nancy and family, and Alfred Stockard and wife Sue and family; sisters, Gladys Carlton and family, Ruth Slater and husband Gerald and family, Ann Morris and husband Richard and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Thelma Stockard; older brother, Raymond Stockard; and husband of 60 years, Dr. Sebron Williams in 2012. Funeral services will be Monday, July 24, 2017 at 12:30pm at Grand View Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at 11AM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Grand View Memorial Park.
