Richard J. McGinnis, age 89, of Neenah passed away on Wednesday morning, July 12, 2017 at Atrium Post-Acute Care of Neenah. He was born on December 1, 1927 son of the late John W. and Leota C. (Greenwood) McGinnis. After high school, Richard proudly served his country with the United States Navy for 25 years, retiring in 1970. He then drove cab for Yellow Cab in Appleton and Neenah. On October 10, 1992 he married Frances M. (Vander Linden) McGinnis. He was an avid fan of the Packers, Notre Dame, and Navy. He enjoyed reading and loved caring for his wife, Fran.

He is survived by his wife, Fran; his step-children: Rachel (Todd) Gauthier; Elizabeth (Miles) Pettit; Howard (Kim) Hulke; Ben (Jodi) Hulke, Appleton; grandchildren: Leah (Zach) Baker; Aaron Gauthier; Molly, Stone, and Allison Hulke; great-grandchildren: Silas and Emerson Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.

No formal services will be held. Richard will be laid to rest alongside his comrades in Arlington National Cemetery.
