Rodney Charles Coleman - 1956-2017

Rodney Charles Coleman, 60, of Humble, Texas went home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2017.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 in the grand chapel of Brookside Funeral Home, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas. He will be laid to rest in the Houston National Cemetery located at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive in Houston, Texas.
Rodney was born in Temple, Texas on December 15, 1956 to Minnie Pearl and Clarence Sterling Coleman. He married Jacqueline Kay Mitchell on November 19, 2005 at Windsor Village United Methodist Church in Houston. He attended technical schools and specialized in electronics and carpentry. He later developed expertise in information technology. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army after serving for three years. Prior to retirement, Rodney was employed as a salesman at Tom Peacock Cadillac/Nissan. He was a member of the Disabled Veterans of America, AARP, and the Coleman Angel Fund.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Sterling Coleman; mother, Minnie Pearl Tidwell; sisters, Ramona Patterson and Cheryl Coleman; granddaughter, Christen Addison Coleman; mother-in-law, Ora Lee Thompson; and brother-in-law, James Earl Johnson.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Kay Coleman; sons, Rodney Charles Coleman II (Humble, TX) and Alvin Pennon (Houston, TX); stepfather, Ira D. Tidwell; sisters, Doris Coleman (Humble,TX), Debbra Coleman (Humble,TX), Evelyn Thompson (Temple,TX), Ira Jean (Howard) Thomas (Temple,TX); brother, Carl Tidwell (Temple,TX); sisters-in-law, Gwendolyn Campbell (Austin,TX), Faye (Maurice) Jones (Austin,TX), Cynthia (Vergel) Gay (Cypress,TX), and Adline Slieman (Houston,TX); brother-in-law, Tollie (Angie) Thompson, Jr. (Cypress,TX); grandchildren, Raniya and Rodney III; nieces and nephews, Steven H., Tatisha, Toya, Vanessa, Howard, Colby, Tricia, Carl, Steven L., Jessie, Anthony, Maurice, Jr., Ardilya, Fashawn, Courtney, Christel, LaPria, Kourteney, Takeisha, Tollie III, Tevin, Tierra, Taraji, Paula, Andrew, Jamal, Kamilah; and numerous other relatives and friends.
