(Bonnie) Joyce Kelley, of Clarkson Valley, Mo., passed away suddenly while with her husband and amongst friends while attending a wedding celebration on Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was 61.

She is survived by her husband, Nicholas Riggio Jr.; son, Ryan Kelley; daughters, Katherine O'Keefe, Caroline O'Keefe, Christina O'Keefe, and Mary Nicole Riggio; step-son Ryan Riggio; sisters, Beverly Jan Kelly and Barbara Jyll Swearingen (Kirk); brother Boyce Hilt (Kim); mother, Anita Hilt; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Julius Boyce Hilt.

Joyce was a dynamic, fun-filled personality and a natural born leader. A lifelong resident of West County, she blazed the way for her two younger sisters into cheerleading at Crestview Junior High and Lafayette High School (all sisters co-participating) and much more importantly, by being determined to achieve as high an education as possible.

While pursuing a teaching degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, Joyce married Brian Kelley and began her family with a son. She later attended St. Louis University School of Law as a single parent, passed the Missouri BAR and began a highly successful career as a civil servant in the office of the County Counselor.

Joyce then married Daniel O'Keefe III and created three wonderful daughters.

As a Counselor/Prosecutor since 1991 in the St. Louis County Courts, Joyce was most proud of her work in developing the St. Louis County Mental Health Court, being recognized many times for her outstanding achievements. While having opportunities to pursue many lucrative private positions, she instead chose to fulfill a life of public service and intended to further her career as a State Judge.

Joyce completed her family by marrying Nicholas Riggio Jr. and having her youngest (fourth) lovely daughter.

Joyce lived a life of no regrets. She viewed life as a challenge to be defeated. She had an extensive network of family, friends and professional associates for few to compare to. Always the consummate provider, she enriched the world around her incalculably. Joyce stamped her legacy on the world as she lived. She will forever be sorely missed.

Services: Private service and interment. Visitation at the SCHRADER Funeral Home and Cremation, 14960 Manchester Road at Holloway, Ballwin, Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. A celebration of Joyce's life will follow at 4:30 p.m. at Forest Hills Country, Club.
