Beatrice was the daughter of Earl and Effie Mae (Mefford) Hopkins. She graduated from Chandler High School in 1953. Beatrice married Jimmy Lee Ward on October 19, 1952, in Davenport, Oklahoma. She worked as a home health aide for many years, and was a member of the Chandler Southern Baptist Church. Beatrice enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and going to the Senior Citizens luncheons. Her hobbies include playing bingo and crocheting, having made all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren afghans.
Her parents, husband and one sister, Lucretia June Hopkins, preceded Beatrice in death.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Ward of Stroud, Oklahoma, three daughters and sons-in law, Rhonda Bailey of Texarkana, Texas, Marsha and Rodney Smith of Yukon, Oklahoma, Vanessa and Dwight Foster of Bentonville, Arkansas, three sisters and brother-in-law, Evelene and Leland King of Lenexa, Kansas, Irene Wresche of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Earlene Nicholson, of Plainville, Kansas, nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Beatrice's family will be receiving friends and family at the funeral home on Monday, July 24, 2017, from 5:00PM to 7:00PM.
Funeral services will be held 10:00AM, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Henley officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
