Percy served as a Staff Sergeant, Company A, 20th Armored Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, U.S. Army during World War II.

He resided in Rockingham County, New Hampshire prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on November 2, 1942 in Portland, Maine. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Farm Hand and also as Married.

Percy was "Killed In Action" in Italy during the war and was awarded the Purple Heart.

At the families request, his state of birth was added to his headstone (Maine) instead of his state of residence (New Hampshire).
