Kevin Ray Ward was born March 29, 1967 in Williamsburg, VA. He died March 13, peacefully, at Sentara Hospital surrounded by his family. His deceased grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ward and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Watson, also his Uncle Larry and Aunt Faye. Survivors include his parents, Ken and Nancy Ward; brother, Lindsay and his wife, Patti, whom Kevin called "Sis;" nephews, Brian and Jordan; and niece, Caroline; sister, Kendra Garrington and husband, John; niece Danielle and nephew, David; a very special friend, Gwen Carroll and his yellow lab, Macseen. Kevin loved the ARC of Greater Williamsburg where he had many friends. He attended these summer camps each year; Camp Overlook, Camp Baker and Camp Rainbow. He couldn't wait for the first one to begin. He also was enrolled at the Sentara Cares Program. Kevin was a member at Williamsburg United Methodist Church and loved attending SS and church services each week. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 6-8pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA. A memorial service will take place on Friday at 11am at Williamsburg UMC with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Arc of Greater Williamsburg, 150-D Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23185. Online condolences may be offered at www.nelsencares.com.
