Jean L. Weaver, 97, of Lancaster, PA, passed peacefully on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at The Glen at Willow Valley. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Hershey and Florence Hertzler Lenhard, and was the beloved wife of Robert E. Weaver, with whom she spent 67 years of marriage.
After leaving Armstrong, post WWII, and many years in clothing retail with well known stores in Lancaster as a clerk and assistant buyer, Jean settled into a long and rewarding 20+ year career with Fulton Bank, retiring in 1985. She loved her many years in card clubs, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and attending church at Saint Peter's Lutheran in Lancaster.
Jean is survived by her son, James R., husband of Kathy M. Weaver; grandson, Justin J., husband of Heather M. Weaver, and great-grandson, Brigham G. Weaver, all of Lancaster. She was predeceased by a son, Paul L. Weaver, and a brother, Paul H. Lenhard (Leona).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jean's Celebration of Life Funeral Service at The Groffs Family Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 528 W. Orange Street, (corner of W. Orange & Pine Sts.), Lancaster, PA on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Craig A. Ross officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Silver Spring Cemetery.
