She died at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn., of natural causes.
A native of Christian County, she was born Nov. 1, 1918, the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Proffitt McCargo. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Palestine Baptist Church. Her husband, Chester Holt, died in 2001. A son, Robert Holt, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, Ronnie Holt, Hopkinsville; a daughter, Joyce Oliver, Hopkinsville; two brothers, Robert McCargo, Madisonville, Frank McCargo, Hopkinsville; a sister, Edith Pool, Hopkinsville, four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
