Ronnie attended South Georgia Technical College where he received degrees in Office Equipment Repair and Electronics. He worked for Xerox Corporation for 33 years, and upon retiring, he worked at Hutchinson Hardware in Senoia. He was Licensed as a Minister in November of 2001, and was later ordained in November of 2002. He served as Minister of Outreach and Evangelism and also as Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church of Senoia until he retired in June of 2011.
Ronnie loved life, loved to laugh, and he loved people. He was a very devout Christian who stood strong in his faith and was always ready and willing to share Jesus with others. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1978, taught Sunday School for over 30 years, served as AWANA Commander, and led Men's Bible Study. He was also well known for his hearty "AMENs" during church services.
The funeral was Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 3 o'clock at the First Baptist Church of Senoia with Dr. John Talley and Dr. Ted Padgett officiating. Burial followed at Senoia City Cemetery. The visitation was Saturday evening between 6-8 at McKoon Funeral Home, 38 Jackson St, Newnan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sue Rogers Mitchell, one sister, Martha (James) Weisbecker, and one brother, Aubrey (Joann) Mitchell, both of Newnan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends that he loved dearly.
