Son of Mr. & Mrs. John Decker Sr. Married Effie Thomas. and had three sons, George , Calvin and Robert; and three sons Ella Richey, Betty Ourey and Thelma Bottorf. John was a resident of New Castle for 27 years where he was a carpenter by trade and had retired in 1930. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
John died at his home on Friday,
May 10, 1940. Survivors included his wife Effie, his sons and daughters, two brothers, Joseph and Aquilla Decker; and one sister, Nannie Balentine.
