Arthur was the son of Justus Arthur White and Bessie Mae Perkins White. He went to high school in Atmore, Alabama. He played college football at the University of Alabama.

In 1937, Arthur was the 14th pick in the 2nd round of the NFL draft. He was an offensive lineman for the New York Giants (years 1937-1939 and in 1945)and for the Chicago Cardinals (years 1940-1941).

Arthur made his wrestling debut in 1939. On 5/24/1939, he had a win against Masked Marvel. Arthur fought in at least 685 matches.
