Ernest E. Pearson, 92, of Rockford, died Wed., June 17, 2009. Born Sept. 26, 1916, in Dalarna, Sweden, the son of Ernest and Martina (Liljenstam) Pearson. He married Lily Ann Sell on April 23, 1938, in Epworth, Iowa; she died Dec. 11, 2006, in Rockford. Attended Rockford Central High School. He retired from Forging and Stamping Inc., after more than 35 years, at the age of 75. Member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He loved the thought of farming and grew his own strawberries. He traveled the world with his wife, and was in the Merchant Marine. He also enjoyed bowling.
Survived by daughter, Luann (Glenn "Joe) McGary; granddaughter, Robin (Charles Henley) McGary; grandson, Michael (Linda) McGary; four great-grandchildren. Also predeceased by brothers, Edgar and Eric.
