COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 07/21/2017
HARDY - Ruth Susan, 92, was born on March 23, 1925 in Louisville to the late John & Florence (Brucker) Mikesell, and passed from this life on Wednesday July 19, 2017. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the scripture study group and was a retired buyer for the Hazelwood Hospital. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Earl Hardy; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a daughter in-law, Tonie Hardy; son in-law, Joe Flanagan. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carolyn Hollabaugh (Phil), Bernice Sachleben (Leroy), Mary Ann Lyons (Bobby), Lisa Smith (Scott), and Debbie Hardy-Feldkamp (Chris); sons, Leonard (Nancy), Bernard (Bonnie), and Roger & Mike Hardy; brother in-law, Cletus Hardy; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and extended friends and family who considered her their mother, and especially Joe & Mary Jo Wooldridge; and lastly her special pet, "Critty". A funeral Mass of celebration for Mrs. Hardy will be held at noon on Monday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 So. 3rd St. with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Southern Home of Arch L. Heady & Son, 3601 Taylor Blvd. Memorial gifts may be made to any of the following, Pitt Academy.
