WATERS, BUDDY LEE
Buddy Lee Waters, age 94, passed away Friday, December 2, 2016, at his home. Buddy was born January 1, 1922 in Hawthorne, Florida to George Neal and Beulah Sherouse Waters. A lifelong resident and farmer of Hawthorne, Buddy had many additional roles in his community. In the 1940's and 1950's he delivered ice, he drove a school bus for Hawthorne High School for 25 years, he was a volunteer fire fighter for Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department and he worked with Williams-Thomas Hawthorne Funeral Home since it opened its doors in 1992. Buddy was an active member and deacon and oldest living member of First Baptist Church of Hawthorne.
Buddy is survived by his wife of 62 1/2 years, Cleo Allen Waters of Hawthorne, FL; daughters, Betty Hofmann (Rick) and Susan McDonald (Richard), all of Hawthorne, FL and son Jerry Waters (Donna) of Hawthorne, FL. Grandchildren, Missy Hamlow, Dale Connelly, Brian McDonald, Kelsey Waters and Weslee Waters and great grandchildren, Dusty, Melanie, Clayton, Lexy, Zach and Brittany also survive him.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, December 4, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., in Hawthorne Cemetery with Pastor Charles Litzell officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 3, 2016, 4:00 to 5:30 pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to First Baptist Church of Hawthorne Building Fund, P.O.
