Emily and Ward Burnett's son, Aaron Ward Burnett,had his name changed to "Aaron Ward" in 1867 in White Plains, NY so that he would be inline for his maternal grandfather's estate. He rose to the rank of Rear Admiral in the USN. It was at his home in Newport, RI that his sister Marie Louise Burnett married then Lt. William Stanton in 1885.
