Gabriel "Buddy" Mendoza, Jr., 18, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Hendrick Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Bhaskar Morugudi officiating. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. A wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 N. 12th Street.
Mr. Mendoza was born July 17, 1994, in Abilene where he lived all his life.
Survivors include his father, Gabriel Mendoza of Abilene; his mother, Patricia Rodriguez of Abilene; two sons, Gabriel Jermiah Mendoza, III and Josiah Achilles Mendoza, both of Abilene; the mother of his children, Janie Ortiz; a brother, Christian Isaac Mendoza of Mansfield; two sisters, Desree' Dominique Mendoza and Thalia Santana, both of Abilene; his grandparents, Ismael Mendoza, Olga Acosta and Elva Rodriguez; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joui Rodriguez, Michael Santana, Sammy Carrion, Christian Mendkoza Ismeal Mendoza, IV and Armando Hernandez.
