Rose was the wife of Cy Christman, and they had three children:

Ariah Benjamin, sometimes seen as Benson, but went by "Ben", born December 1858, married Harriet/Hattie;

Jennie, born August 1861; married Arthur L. Diefendorf; died June 22, 1946, buried in this cemetery; and

Willis, born 1865; died about age 8;

In June 1919, my mother, Evelyn Russ, 8, and her sister, Florence, 6, were in a buggy/train accident. Their father, Andrew Russ, and sister, Emily, were killed. They were in Amsterdam Hospital for three months. After their release, Florence lived with Rose and Cy Christman for a year in Ames. Her mother, Ida Russ, lived in Sprakers then, and she wanted Florence close to her physician, Dr. Caroline Garlock, in Ames. Eventually she was able to move to Ames.
