Kenneth Louis “Big Ken” Starks, of Rockford departed this earthly life July 16, 2017 in his home after a short illness. He was born August 16, 1941 in Rockford the son of Adrian and Mary Louise Starks. Kenneth married Mae Midgett, May 4, 1964 in Freeport, IL. He was employed 32 years in the Forestry department by the City of Rockford. Kenneth was a member of the Friends of Booker. He was a avid sportsman. He graduated from West High School.

Kenneth leaves to cherish many loving memories, his devoted wife, Mae; 3 sons, Stewart Sowell, Kevin Starks and Kelly (Zandra) Starks; daughter, Euniece Sowell; three grandchildren; one great grandson; a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers.

Services were held Friday, July 21, 2017 at St. Luke M.B. Church 2919 19th Street.

Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery.
