Kathleen Malone Harmon, age 93, of Bowling Green, formerly of Campbellsville, died in Bowling Green, on July 17, 2017 after an illness.
Kathleen was born in Taylor County on May 16, 1924, the daughter of the late George “Webb” Malone and Fidella Moore Malone. On January 10, 1942, she married James J. Harmon who preceded her in death on August 20, 1980. In 2000, she moved to Bowling Green where she attended Eastwood Baptist Church. She loved working in her garden of flowers and spending time with her family, as well as listening to Gospel and Bluegrass music.
Besides Kathleen’s parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Ethel Malone Gunter, Luerena Malone Gabehart, Villar Malone Hardin, Earl Malone, Fred Malone and William “Willie” Malone as well as a grandson, Terry Lynn Latimer.
Kathleen Malone Harmon is survived by her children and their spouses, Brenda Sue Moody and her husband Charles and James “Jim” Edward Harmon and his wife Carolyn, of Bowling Green, and Rachel Lucille Holmes and her husband Michael of Paris, KY. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Jennifer Gale Stagner and James Patrick Harmon of Bowling Green, Damon Kelly Harmon of Owensboro, Ramon Jeffery Harmon of Bowling Green, Christopher Michael Holmes of Paris, Jessica Lynn Schartz of Dallas, Texas and Cathilee Rena Sanders of Bowling Green; great-grandchildren Bobbie Leigh Stagner, Miranda Kaye Stagner, James Mathue Harmon, Anita Kathleen Harmon, Daniel Keith Harmon of Bowling Green, Jeffery Dakota Harmon of Kansas and Harlee Grace Sanders of Bowling Green as well as one great-great-grandchild, Aidyn Stagner of Bowling Green.
Funeral Services for Kathleen Malone Harmon will be Friday, July 21, 2017 at 2:00 p.m., EDT at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Swack officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Liberty Cemetery in Marion County.
Visitation will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church, East Campus, in Bowling Green on Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. EDT and from 10:00 – 2:00 EDT Friday at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
The family request donations to be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky and can be made during visitation at Eastwood Baptist Church or at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.
