Leonard Albanese, 86, of Roseto, passed away Monday July 17, 2017, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 6, 1931, in Roseto, Pa, a son of the late Anthony and Rose (Carrescia) Albanese. His beloved wife, former Marie Visingaldi, passed away in 1999.

He was a 1948 graduate of Belvidere High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean War. He was last employed by Hoffman-LaRouche of Belvidere as a chemical operator for 18 years until retiring and prior to that had worked for Celanese Coating of Belvidere for over 30 years. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed going to the area casinos. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Roseto.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Strauss and her husband, Gregg, of Bangor and a son, Anthony and his wife, Terry Albanese, of Bangor and beloved companion, Joyce Geiser of Bethlehem and two brothers, Donald Albanese and Roger Albanese, both of Bangor, and four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by two brothers, Foster and Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, Third & Garibaldi Avenues, Roseto. Friends and family may call on Thursday, July 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the Fiore Funeral Home, www.fiorefuneralhome.com, 230 Market Street, Bangor. Entombment with Military Honors will be in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in the New Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Roseto.
