Calvin Gerald "Butch"Butler, Sr, 67,was called home to Mother Earth on July 15, 2017, in Springfield, IL.

He was born on March 16, 1950, to Hettie Inez Butler, in Chicago, IL. Calvin was married several times.

He was the proud father of six children: Calvin G. Butler, Jr. (Wife Sharon), Treneva A. Butler, Lola Butler-Howell (Husband James), Doryne Harrington (Wife Sylvia), Destinee Butler, and Devin Butler.

He had seven grandchildren: Wesley, Blake, Rainie, Carl, Victoria, and Zamir, Maliyah, Clarissa, Timothy, Shaniya and one great granddaughter Aniyah.

Butch, as known by family and friends was employed by CommonWealth Edison Kincaid Power Plant as an Operator/Trouble Shooter for 15 years.

Butch enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and the last few years of his life his beloved dog Sam.

He was preceded in life by his loving grandparents Lola and Sheldon Butler and his mother Hettie Inez Butler and uncles Calvin (Moose) and Morris Butler.

In addition to his children Calvin leaves to cherish his memory: his brother Dennis Butler and sister Venise Davis-Scott, his nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of close friends and loved ones.
