Clarence "Joe" Bowers, 97, of Harrisburg passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Homeland Center.

He was born the son of Harvey Bowers and Jeannette (Sipe) Spohn on January 1, 1920.

He was predeceased by his loving grandparents, parents, and wife, Patricia Bowers.

He is survived by his daughter, Karen Lane, his stepchildren, Debra Klunk, Sheryl Watson, Patricia Taylor and Raymond Madara, 12 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Joe graduated from New Cumberland High School. He served as a bombardier in the U.S. Army Air Force in WWII. He flew in 35 missions over Germany.

He enjoyed attending Hershey Bears and Harrisburg Senators games with his wife, Patricia. He was also an avid Penn State football fan.

Joe was a founding member of Epiphany Lutheran Church where he sang in the choir.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10am followed by a memorial service at 11am at Epiphany Lutheran Church at 1100 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112 with Pastor Patrick Wirick officiating.
