Jackie was at home surrounded by her family and loving husband of 65 years, Leroy S. Deaton.
She was born in Augusta, Ga. but resided in Aiken most of her life. She was the daughter of the late William (Bill) and Wilma Conner Croft.
Funeral services will be held at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with the Rev. Grant Wiseman and the Rev. Joseph Whitehurst officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery and the family will receive friends in the Stevenson McClelland Building following the service.
Surviving Jackie, in addition to her husband, are daughters Sharon (Fred) Duncan, Leesville, SC and Robin (Johnny) Crews, Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Chris Owens, Ashley Smith, Angela Knight and James Crews; great-grandchildren, Kayla Owens, Anniston Owens, Tanner Patrick, Paiton Smith, Kailyn Smith, Rilan Smith, Dakota Knight and Ryan Knight.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Jacqueline Smith, and a brother William Croft.
Jackie was a member of St. Thaddeus Church where she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the Daughter of the Kings. She was a member of the Cereus Garden Club where she enjoyed competing in flower shows. She enjoyed church activities, loved painting, traveling and spending time at the lake with family and friends, enjoying observation of all the wildlife activities. Jackie loved her cats William and Kate, who are named after the royal couple. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed very much by family and friends.
