Ronald Andy McGuire, 73, of Holton, Kansas, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka.

Ronnie was born September 14, 1943, in Kellyville, Oklahoma a son of Andrew Henry and Lois Irene Dickey McGuire.
Ronald was a concrete finisher; he worked for several construction companies including Rohr Construction and, most recently, Designer Construction in Manhattan. He was proud of his work; he did several on-site jobs moving him and his family to California, Texas, Missouri and back to Kansas.

Ronald loved to listen to country music and watch old Westerns. He was involved in several re-enactments of Western shows. He was an excellent pool shooter. He truly loved his family, spending with his brothers and going to family gatherings where he would teach the younger generations to play a family game known as “Hillbilly Golf”. In his younger years his nickname was “Super”. Ronnie was known for his distinct laugh, his storytelling and catch phrases, “Sugabuga”, “Next Fish” and “Spit on me Frankie, I’m sittin’ in the front row.”He loved loved being around all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he will be missed by all of them.

Ronnie married Cathy Westfall on September 14, 1963. They were later divorced. He then married LaVonne “Shorty” Weeks. They later divorced but continued to take care of each other until she died in 2016.

He is survived by his children, Ronald “Scott” McGuire, Texas, John David McGuire (Sherene), Washington, and Sonceray Diana McGuire, Holton, Kansas; his step-children Thomas Carroll, Louisville, Kansas and Dawn Beebe, Fostoria, Kansas; his grandchildren Brandon, Jared, Shaylee, Rayney, Andrew, Kristen, Danielle, Jamie, Charlene, Freddy, Trevor, Trenton, Aliza, Samatha, Candice, Amber and Crystal; his great-grandchildren, Gabriel John, Tesla Nichole, Angelina, Lily, Brooklyn, Adaline, Dominic, Brayden, Riley, Ethan, Arabella, Makenzie, Joshua, Kimber, Damen , Kaleb and three on the way; his siblings John, Centralia, Kansas, Clayton (Louise), Rapid City, South Dakota; sister-in- laws Boone McGuire, California and Sherry McGuire, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents, step-son Michael Carroll, one great-grandchild, Eli; his siblings Raymond, Billie, Bonnie, Bobby, Barbara and her husband Carl, Kenny, Gary, and sister-in-law Maxine.

A memorial gathering will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Westmoreland Community Center in Westmoreland followed by a graveside burial at Antioch cemetery. Memorials to the Ronald McGuire Memorial Fund c/o the mortuary.
