Gary Dewayne Berry, 63 of Hoxie, also known as "Ponytail" passed away July 15, 2017 in the Flo & Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro following a lengthy illness.

Born July 29, 1953 in Jonesboro; son of the late, James and Margaret McHalffey Berry. He was united in marriage to Linda Walker on March 22, 1971. He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army. Gary drove trucks for a living and was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home; a son, Gerald (Angela) Berry of Walnut Ridge; a daughter, Amy (Rickie) Martinez of Walnut Ridge; six grandchildren, Jessie Lee Berry, Gregory Berry, Anna Berry, Margaret Berry, Robert Martinez and Cyanna Martinez; one sister, Margaret (Ernie) Loven of Ravenden Springs; five brothers, Randy (Sue) Sizemore, Mike, Eddy, Rick and Kevin (Danielle) Berry; his step-mother, Lucille Berry of Washington; a bunch of dogs he call his kids; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10 A.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Robert Foster officiating. Pallbearers will be Dean Hancock, Keith Fisher, Virgil and Steve Adamson. Honorary Pallbearer are Kevin Roberts, Robert Ealey and Tommy Bradley. Interment will follow in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.
