Ronald H. Starkey, age 76, entered Heaven to spend his eternity with the Lord and his loved ones on Monday, April 18, 2016. He was born on September 8, 1939, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Dowell S. Starkey and Dora Griffith. Surviving are his three daughters, Tammy Stewart and husband John, Pamela Starkey, and Kimberly Mazza and husband Robert, all of Clarksburg, WV; three grandchildren, Ashley Dupree of Bridgeport, WV, Brandi Post and her husband Daniel Post of Clarksburg, WV and Jonelle Stewart of Clarksburg, WV; three great grandchildren, Annie Dupree, Cayson Swiger, and Caydon Swiger. He is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Starkey, whom he married on April 8, 1961. In addition to his wife, Ron was predeceased by 4 siblings and best friends, Steve Toryak and Ira Hinkle. Ronald served in the Army Reserve for 6 years in the 293rd Transportation Company. Ronald retired from the Clarksburg Police Department after 28 years of service. His career was full of many accomplishments, in which he received the Sherlock Home Award for Policeman of the Year in 1994. Ronald attended Christian Assembly in Nutter Fort. Entombment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens where full Military Honors will be accorded by the Harrison County Honor Guard and the WV Army National Guard.
