Funeral services for Mr. Othel E. (Shorty) Cook, age 56, Vinemont 3, who died Tuesday night at Hartselle Hospital, will be Thursday at 2 pm at East Battleground Baptist Church, with Rev J.B. Blackwood, Rev Earl McCain, and Rev James Gardner officiating. Higdon Funeral Home, Cullman, will direct the burial in Friendship Cemetery on New Years Day 1976.

Survivors include widow, Mrs. Idois Cook, Vinemont 3; two daughters Mrs. Jim Woodall, Hartselle 1; Mrs. Jimmy Blackwood, Cullman 10; two sons J.C. Cook, Cullman 10; Danny Cook, Vinemont 3; one brother Rev H.A. Cook, Cullman; three sisters Mrs. Arthur Shannon, Vinemont 3; Marie Woods, Chicago, Illinois; Mrs. Roy Samples, Cullman; five grandchildren and a host of friends.

Mr. Cook was a member of East Battleground Baptist Church, where he was known and loved and served as a Deacon for many years. Mr. Cook was a veteran of World War II.

Honorary pallbearers will be Edgar Will Helton, Elton Raley, Franklin Graul, Floyd Bibb, Jr., Rev Athel Raley, and Robert Lee Hill.

Active pallbearer will be nephews, Loyd Burns, Earnest Shannon, Edgar Woods, Roy Samples, Jr., Eddie Dale Higdon, and Timmy McReath.

The body will remain at Higdon Funeral Home, Cullman, until time for services.
