Services for Sammie D. Marble will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 10 a.m. from New County Line Baptist Church in the Edinburg Community with Rev. Dudley Winstead officiating. Burial will follow in New County Line Cemetery. McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia, MS is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Marble, 83, of Carthage, died Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Neshoba County General Hospital in Philadelphia.
She was a native and longtime resident of the Edinburg community in Leake County. She was a retired bookkeeper and formerly worked at Piggly Wiggly of Carthage and Jitney Jungle of Canton. Mrs. Marble was a member of New County Line Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Bob) Mills of Carthage; sons, Ralph (Peggy) Marble of Carthage and Tom (Kay) Marble of Dan Diego. CA; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Nell Turner of Carthage; brother, Billy D. Wilcher of Carthage; numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Mrs. Marble was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Marble and two sons, Larry Marble and Bobby Marble.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 17, 2017, , from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at McClain-Hays Funeral Home in Philadelphia.
