HOLMES, HOMER FRANK, JR., of Hueytown passed away November 7, 2009 at the age 79.

He is greatly missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Audrey; his son, Anthony Holmes (Sharon); daughter, Teresa Gannaway (Steve); grandchildren, Capt. Brad Gannaway (Kimberly), Kevin Gannaway, Wesley Holmes (Khala), Emily Nix (Duane); great-granchildren, Sarah, Cayden, Noah and Hannah.

He was a faithful member of Hueytown Baptist Church. Homer retired from US Pipe and Foundry, Bessemer Plant, in 1991 after 40 years of service as a millwright and maintenance supervisor.

The family will accept visitors on Monday, November 9, 2009 from 5 until 8 p.m. at Hueytown Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial to follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Jerry Watts officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mr. Holmes to Hueytown Baptist Church.
