CLINTON T. COOPER

JACKSONVILLE, FLA. – There will be visitation and funeral services on Friday, July 21, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 5400 Market St. in Boardman, for Clinton T. Cooper, 85, formerly of Overhill Road in Boardman, who passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at his residence in Jacksonville, with his family by his side.
Following the service, Clinton and the cremains of his deceased wife, Shirley, will be interred at Forest Lawn.

Clinton was born Dec. 4, 1931, in Youngstown, the son of the late Reed R. and Alice R. (Kirchner) Cooper. He graduated from Boardman High School and later from Cornell University, class of 1955. Clinton was an engineer and business owner of Cooper Industries and Safe-T-Way Manufacturing for 40 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church while living in Boardman. Clinton was a Rotarian and was a member of Boardman Rotary Club, and later, theJacksonville-Oceanside Rotary Club. He achieved 60 years of perfect attendance with Rotary.
Clinton leaves three daughters, Rebecca A. Davis (husband Mike) of New Port Richey, Fla., Constance T. Snavley (husband Peter) of Jacksonville, and Abby L. Cooper of Sarasota, Fla.; three grandchildren, U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Aaron Hayman, Shannon Stafford and Milton Claude Stafford III; and two great-grandchildren, Madison and Kaylee Hayman.

Besides his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, the former Shirley M. (Farrell) who died July 21, 2016, and his sister, Winifred "Winnie" A. Cooper, who died Aug. 31, 2015.

Arrangements are being handled by the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman.

The family asks that contributions to be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida (or any local hospice branch) in lieu of flowers.
