Larry O. Couch, 71, of Morton, formerly of Germantown Hills, passed away at 6:15am Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his home.
He was born November 12, 1945 in Peoria to the late Raymond and Edna Parrish Couch. He married Wanda Rachford on July 4, 1998 in Peoria.
Surviving is his wife, Wanda; his children, Mark Couch (Debbie Allison) and Charles Couch; his step-children, Andrew (Sherri) Rachford and Jill (Scott) Byrd; one granddaughter; five grandsons; one great-grandson; his brother, Raymond Couch; and several nieces and nephews.
For many years, he enjoyed his work as a union boilermaker with Local #60 in Morton. Larry served in the US Army as a tank driver during the Vietnam War. He was a true patriot, and was proud to participate in the Greater Peoria Honor Flight. Larry was a Master Mason and a member of East Peoria Church of Christ. He was a sports fan, particularly of the Bears and Cardinals. Larry loved to travel and take motorcycle trips with his wife and his cherished friends. Above all else, his family was his number one priority.
A memorial service will be held at 10am Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. His wife, Wanda, will lead the ceremony. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the funeral home, and for one half hour prior to the service Thursday. Inurnment will be at Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Peoria Honor Flight or to Illinois Cancer Care.
