Paul Vinson Hightower, passed away at the age of 91, on May 8, 2005, in a Van nursing Home.
He was born Feb. 15, 1914, in Edom, to the late Paul Hightower and Wilma Vinson Hightower. He had been a resident of Van most of his life, living in Houston for some time. He retired as a foreman from Pure Oil Co, where he worked as a welder. He was a member of Colfax Baptist Church, and a Mason with the Colfax Masonic Lodge chapter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geneva Hightower, in October 2003; brothers, Thomas Crow, and Lawrence Crow; Sisters, Lou Rogers, and Flonell Smith; grandson, Scott Peden; and great- granddaughter, Kerrigan Davis.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Lana Hightower; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and John Peden; sisters, Arlene Jones, Betty Jean Davidson, and Billie Credeur; seven grandchildren, Debbie Carter, Kim Campbell, Andy Peden, Angle Reed, Wesley Hightower, Barry Hightower and Amanda Davis; 18 great-grandchildren.
