Sarah Messenger Condie
Sarah Messenger Condie, 82, of, 815 Dutch Ridge Road, Brighton Township, died Tuesday, July 16, 1991, in The Medical Center, Beaver.
Born Jan. 3, 1909, in Connellsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Justin and Mary Elizabeth Stillwagon Firestone, she was a resident of Brighton Township for the past 10 years, formerly of Hopewell Township and Rochester. A former nurse at the Beaver Valley Geriatric Center, Brighton Township, she was a member of the First Christian Church, Beaver, and the Order of Eastern Star. She served as worthy high priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, and as past mother advisor of the Rainbow Girls, Rochester.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Grove Messenger, in 1955; her second husband, Charles A. Condie, in 1975; an infant son, Donald Grove Messenger Jr.; four sisters, three brothers, and a granddaughter, Cathy Strutt.
Surviving are a son, Robert Messenger, Center Township; three daughters, Eleanor Hogsett, Exton, Pa.; Donna Seidler, Home wood, and Eileen Kullmann, Tulsa, Okla.; a stepdaughter, Jean Thomas, Hopewell Township; nine grandchildren; two step-grand-children; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Austin Firestone, Hunker, Pa., and a sister, Lydia McCall, Beaver Falls.
Friends will be received today 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the JODD FUNERAL HOME, 340 Third St., Beaver, where a service will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m., by her pastor, the Rev. Clifford Schaub.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Daugherty Township.
