Passed away in her sleep on May 30, 2017 at the age of 70. Born to Clarinda Pat Brinkley in Palestine, TX, she joined older sister Aleta.
Maria graduated from Memorial High School in Houston, TX in 1965 and went on to attend the University of Houston. Maria married Tim Thompson in 1979 and they welcomed their daughter Leslie in 1981. Leslie was the light of her mother's life and her proudest achievement.
