INDIANAPOLIS Larry Clifford Shields, 72, resident of Clearvista Lake Nursing Center and former resident of Anderson, passed away July 15 at the nursing center after a long illness.

He was born in Madison County, Dec. 30, 1944, the son of Homer and Viola Catherine Lawson Shields.

He was a graduate of Anderson High School (1964) and retired from General Motors in Anderson in 1994 after 30 years as an engineer.

He was a member of Fellowship Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are a son, Brian (Beth) of Pendleton, and one daughter, Jennifer Shields of Marina Del Ray, Calif.; grandchildren Sinead and Celia; two brothers, Ron (Sally) of Alexandria, and Roy (Sandy)of Westfield.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ernie.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 8212 South Walnut St., Daleville, with Pastor Paul Werling officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Daleville.

Friends may call on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
