Eugene "Gene" Pierce, 72 of Keota, OK passed away Sunday, July 9, 2017. He was the owner of Pierce and Sons Construction and he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Christian. He liked to hunt and fish, and he loved his wife, kids and grandkids.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Edwards Funeral Home Chapel, with interment at the Fort Smith National Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements are under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Fort Smith.

He is survived by his wife Sue, of the home; two daughters, Tammy Pierce and her husband Sherman Thompson of Keota and Patricia Pierce and her husband Edward Merrill of Spiro; two sons, Richard Pierce and his wife Sherry, of Charleston, South Carolina and Jammy Pierce and his wife Regina of Paradise, Texas; a sister, Imogene Wagner of Hugo, OK; three brothers, Richard Pierce of Longview, Texas, Jimmy Pierce of Elgin, OK and Bobby Pierce of Edmond, OK. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Zach Pierce, Aspen Pierce, Ronnal Coop, Jimmy Vasquez, Kenneth Pollard and Jamon Pierce. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jace Pierce, Michael Mendoza and Alex Sevenstar.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
