May 15, 1821 he was elected captain of the West Cambridge Light Infantry, which office he discharged for several years. He was a man of great activity and enterprise." West Cambridge is now Arlington, Mass. He died of consumption (tuberculosis). He and Lydia Adams were married August, 27, 1817. They had eight children.
