According to the Genealogy of the Estabrook Family: "He was of handsome countenance and commanding person, full of personal courage, and made himself useful in military and civil life. May 15, 1821 he was elected captain of the West Cambridge Light Infantry, which office he discharged for several years. He was a man of great activity and enterprise." West Cambridge is now Arlington, Mass. He died of consumption (tuberculosis). He and Lydia Adams were married August, 27, 1817. They had eight children.
