Sylvia Gail Finkell, 69, went home to be with the Lord on July 4th. Sylvia was born in Daytona Beach and lived in the area her entire life.
She graduated from Mainland High School and attended Florida State University, where she earned her degree in music and became an avid Seminole fan. She loved her music and spent years teaching it in many of the area schools.
Sylvia was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Esther (Baltzegar) Finkell and her younger brother, Paul Finkell. She leaves behind her sister, Donna Lee Quinn (Robert) of Seminole, Fl. and her two brothers, Don (Emily) of Georgia and Brian (Donna Marie) Finkell of Port Orange, Fl. Sylvia is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins all of whom adored her, her uncle Paul (Lucille) Baltzegar and her aunt Margaret Finkell Hall.
A Celebration of Sylvia's life will be held on Saturday July 15th at Lohman Funeral Home, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, beginning at 12 noon with a gathering of family and friends beginning one hour prior. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. You may also share condolences with the family here on our website.
