Jazz Musician. He was a drummer and percussionist who is best known to many as the bandleader on "The Dick Cavett Show" during the 1970s. After beginning his career during the 1950s playing in New York City nightclubs, Rosengarden worked as a studio musician who performed and recorded with such artists as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, Milt Hinton and Stan Getz. His other television credits include "The Steve Allen Show", "The Ernie Kovacs Show" and "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson". Rosengarden was also a member of the musical groups The Soprano Summit and The New York Jazz Repertory Company. He died from kidney failure.
