Adams - Kile

Mechanicsburg, Nov. 30. - The marriage of Miss Katherine Kile, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Kile, of Alien street (sic), and Elmer Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Adams, also of this place, took place Sunday afternoon at the Church of God parsonage in South Market Street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. O. Weigle. pastor of the church.

The bride, who was attired in a traveling suit and wore a corsage of white rosebuds, was attended by Miss Sara May Adams, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Grace Felty, as bridesmaids. William Adams, twin brother of the bridegroom. acted as best man.

Elmer N. Adams, 88, of Mechanicsburg, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007 at Church of God Nursing Home.

Mr. Adams was born in Mechanicsburg, on March 29, 1918, the son of the late Irwin and Eva (Biddle) Adams.

He retired from the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was a member of First Church of God, Mechanicsburg Club, member and past president of Citizen's Fire and Rescue, and a former Deputy Sheriff and was involved with the Ambulance.

He was the widower of Katherine M. Adams.

Elmer is survived by 2 sons, Ronald E. Adams of Mechanicsburg and David B. Adams of Destin, FL; a daughter, Nancy A. Oxley of Teaneck, NJ; 3 sisters, Sara Mae Fought of Carlisle, Jane Shipe of York Springs and Viola Adams of Mechanicsburg. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held in the Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, March 7th. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. There will be a viewing Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church of God Home, 801 Hanover Street, Carlisle, PA 17013.
