Janet Woods, 74, of Oelwein passed away on Thursday July 13, 2017 at her home. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Sunday July 16, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home in Oelwein. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday July 17, 2017 at the Geilenfeld Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fontana Cemetery at Hazleton. A memorial fund has been established.

Janet Kay (Burco) Woods was born on June 29, 1943 to Iola Mae (Graf) Burco. She graduated from Hazleton High School with the class of 1961. On December 5, 1964 she was united in marriage with Frank Walter Woods at Christ United Presbyterian Church in Oelwein. Janet and Frank farmed southwest of Hazleton for 35 years.

Janet had been a beloved member and life of the party with the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning her goods. She loved travelling to Naples Florida and spending time at the beach. She also loved her convertible Camero, car cruises/shows and NASCAR races.

Left to celebrate Janet's life is her son Marty Woods of Hazleton; her brothers: Gaylen Burco of Oelwein and Jerald (Sonia) Burco of Oelwein; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband Frank, her son Chad Woods, and her sister Judy Prindle.
